Use this food grade mineral oil to maintain and restore your wood and bamboo cutting boards, butcher blocks and other wood products in the kitchen. Our oil is made from the pure USP grade white mineral oil that is enriched with vitamin E for added shelf stability and wood absorption. Not all mineral oil is food safe, mineral oil comes in multiple grades that is based on the refinement process. The lowest and least expensive grades are used for commercial and industrial equipment while the top quality grades are for medicine, food and cosmetics. Lower grade mineral oil is classified by the world health organization as a known carcinogen, while refined mineral oil is not. Our food grade mineral oil is safe for human use and is of an exceptionally refined grade that is colorless, odorless and has no taste. Directions for use: Every 3 to 4 weeks, apply a generous coat of mineral oil evenly over the entire surface of the cutting board or countertop. Make sure you oil the sides of the board as well. Use back of knife (not towel) to spread oil, but do not wipe off excess, in order for oil to absorb. Let sit for at least 4 hours or overnight if possible, so oil can penetrate completely into wood. A properly oiled board should appear wet and hydrated. For thicker cutting boards or butcher blocks, repeat this process on underside of board. To season a new board, repeat this process 3 to 4 times until surface is ready for use.

I purchased the CuttingBoard.com Mineral Oil to treat my new Oxo wooden spoons, cutting board, and butcher block.Firstly, I’ll say you absolutely want to purchase a food grade mineral oil. If you haven’t use a product like this in the past, most of the things you’ll treat will be associated with food.Neatly, the application process is very simple. You’ll want to coat the utensil or item with a small amount of oil (and this bottle will last years, even with regular…

A Fantastic Oil to Preserve High Quality Steel and Wood… I actually bought this to coat several high carbon steel hunting knives that I own that are of very high quality and cannot be allowed to rust. Since I use them with food or that which will be food in the future, I never wanted to use mineral oil because of its petroleum or paraffin base, so I used to use plant based oils like olive oil or vegetable oil. The issue is, those oils go rancid and, when a knife is left in storage coated with those oils, they actually convert into a gummy substance…

Protect your cutting boards with this product. This is my first experience using mineral oil for a cutting board. I had always used a bit of mild soap and water, which I now know is damaging to the wood over time. I just purchased a John Boos butcher block kitchen island. It’s beautiful, and it’s a focal point in my kitchen, so I want to keep it properly maintained. I went online to research different mineral oils, and decided to give Cutting Board’s product a try. I am very pleased with their product and will continue to use it in the…
